Wine-pairing app Henri launches for private and professional use
The wine-pairing app, Henri, has been launched to assist both private consumers and the gastronomy sector in selecting appropriate wines for specific dishes. Users can input or photograph a meal to receive instant, reasoned recommendations based on flavor profiles, such as matching creamy sauces with aromatic white wines.
Designed to be an independent tool, the app does not sell wine or display comparison prices. For restaurants, the service allows establishments to upload their own wine lists via PDF or website synchronization. Guests can then use QR codes at their tables to ask the AI for pairings specifically from the restaurant's existing inventory, which aims to increase wine sales by assisting undecided customers.
Additional features include a digital wine cellar with a maturity alarm that notifies users when a scanned bottle has reached its peak. The service is available as a web app and an iPhone app, with an Android version expected soon.
