Winfield, Kansas: Father kills wife and four children before suicide

A 53-year-old man killed his wife and four children before committing suicide in Winfield, Kansas, on Tuesday morning. The suspect, identified as Ronald Williams Sr., reportedly called 911 at approximately 8:50 a.m. to confess to the killings and state his intention to take his own life.

Upon breaching the residence, authorities discovered six deceased individuals. The victims were identified as Williams’ wife, 44-year-old Kelly George, and their four children: Carol (9), Ronald Jr. (7), Sarah (5), and Kelly Magee-Williams (3).

Winfield Police Chief Robbie DeLong noted that Williams had exhibited “erratic behavior” in the weeks preceding the incident, including verbal confrontations with others, though officials stated there were no prior indications the situation would escalate to this level. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) and local police are continuing to investigate the motive behind the shooting.
