Winnipeg Jets statistical records updated to include three eras

The NHL has updated how statistics are tracked for the Winnipeg Jets, expanding the team’s all-time records to encompass three distinct eras: the original franchise from 1979 to 1996, the Atlanta Thrashers era from 1999 to 2011, and the modern iteration of the team.

This change reshapes the franchise’s statistical leaderboards. Dale Hawerchuk now holds the records for most goals (379) and points (929) in team history. Thomas Steen has taken over the record for most assists (553), while Laurie Boschman leads in penalty minutes (1,338).

For the 2026–2027 season, current player Mark Scheifele is positioned to challenge these historical marks, trailing Hawerchuk by seven goals and 22 points.

Regarding broadcast availability, Canadian viewers can access regional games via TSN3 and national matchups through Sportsnet or Amazon Prime Video. In the United States, fans can primarily watch via ESPN+ through ESPN Select or Unlimited, with select national games airing on TNT, ESPN, and NHL Network.
