Winnipeg security guards charged in assault of Sea Bears player Teddy Allen

Three security guards have been arrested and charged following an alleged assault on Winnipeg Sea Bears player Teddy Allen at a downtown Winnipeg nightclub on August 3. The suspects, aged 35, 37, and 58, are facing charges of assault causing bodily harm.

The incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. at a licensed premise in the 400 block of Main Street, identified as the Palomino Club. Social media footage reportedly shows the security personnel surrounding and physically escorting the 28-year-old Allen from the venue. Allen was hospitalized with serious injuries but was released the following day.

The assault has significant implications for the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) playoffs. Allen, who set a league single-season scoring record this year and is a candidate for the league's MVP, will be unable to play in the upcoming championship game against the Brampton Honey Badgers due to the extent of his injuries.
