Świnoujście housing study examines impact of vacation rentals

Dawid Podgórski, a student at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, is conducting a research study to examine the impact of vacation apartments on housing availability for permanent residents in Świnoujście.

The study focuses on the changes in the local real estate market between 2005 and 2025. It specifically investigates whether the rise of short-term rentals and second homes has influenced property prices and the ability of year-round residents to purchase or rent housing in the city.

To ensure a reliable analysis, the researcher is seeking anonymous survey responses from local residents. The questionnaire covers topics such as housing affordability relative to income, changes in property prices over the last two decades, and the housing situation across different age groups.
