Świnoujście proposes regional Local Cybersecurity Center

The city of Świnoujście is proposing the creation of a Local Cybersecurity Center (LCC) and has invited neighboring local governments in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship to collaborate on the initiative. The goal is to establish a supra-municipal center of competence and services to provide digital protection for local administrations, schools, and social services.

The initiative aims to utilize the Local Cybersecurity Centers program, which is funded by the European Funds for Digital Development 2021–2027. The project is being organized through the Digital Poland Project Center. This collaborative approach seeks to pool expertise and technology to move beyond mere reaction to cyberattacks, focusing instead on effective prevention.

The urgency of the project is highlighted by data from the Ministry of Digital Affairs, which noted 3,249 incidents registered by CSIRT NASK within local government units in 2025.
