Świnoujście removes abandoned vehicles amid parking concerns

Authorities in Świnoujście have reported the removal of 49 abandoned or unused vehicles since the beginning of 2026, along with five additional vehicles towed due to traffic safety risks.

While the removal of abandoned wrecks is progressing, local residents have raised concerns regarding vehicles that regularly violate parking regulations by blocking sidewalks, intersections, and pedestrian crossings. Although municipal guards have the legal authority to use wheel clamps on vehicles parked in prohibited areas that do not pose an immediate safety threat, residents are questioning why this measure is not applied more frequently to combat illegal parking.
