Winschoten hosts Waterbei street theater festival

The Waterbei street theater festival has commenced in Winschoten, Netherlands, featuring a series of parades and performances. The opening Friday festivities included a 'TV-helden Kidsparade' for children, featuring characters such as Fireman Sam, Bob the Builder, and Bluey, followed by meet-and-greet sessions.

As night fell, the festival transitioned into an international illuminated parade. Starting from Cultuurhuis De Klinker and moving toward the Marktplein, the procession featured various international troupes. The French company Cie Remue Ménage performed 'Légendaires,' while the German group Stelzen-Art presented the 'Flying Travellers.' The parade concluded with the 'Electro Frogs' by the French group Cie Archibald Caramantran.

The festival continues through Saturday, with street theater performances scheduled at approximately fifteen different locations throughout the city center, including acrobatics, circus acts, and music.
