Winschoten Library hosts regional storytelling program

The libraries in the Groningen region of the Netherlands are participating in the ‘Gewoon van hier’ program from October 15 to November 15. The initiative focuses on discovering, recalling, and sharing regional stories, traditions, and memories.

As part of this program, Bibliotheek Winschoten is hosting several community activities. These include a photo exhibition titled ‘Groetjes uit Oldambt,’ which invites residents to submit photographs of meaningful local places or objects. Additionally, writer Lilian Zielstra will lead a writing workshop on October 21 to help participants turn personal objects into written narratives. On November 2, Sanne Meijer will deliver a lunch lecture regarding the history and stories behind traditional Groningen baked goods.
