Winter astronomy programs for children launched in Argentine cities

The Parque Astronómico de La Punta (PALP) in San Luis province announced a free, month‑long schedule of astronomy‑related activities for the winter school break, running from 6 July to 31 July. Offerings include a 20‑minute planetarium sky simulation, solar‑telescope observations, a biodiversity trail, water‑rocket workshops, and daily sessions of robotics, virtual‑reality and recycling games. Logic‑puzzle workshops will also be held in multiple towns across the province, such as Merlo, Villa Mercedes, Concarán and several others.

In Neuquén, the organization Lan Kuyen organized a series of winter‑time astronomy experiences aimed at children and families. Events are taking place in the Hiroki Peninsula and the city’s North and Central parks and combine digital tools (Stellarium), guided walks, telescope viewings and activities linked to lunar phases. The program seeks to make the clear winter sky accessible to youngsters while encouraging parents to join them in the parks.
