Winter Beauty Care Tips Address Skin, Hair and Nail Dryness

Cold, dry winter weather can cause skin irritation, frizzy hair and brittle nails. Marina Groke, director of Grupo Unhas Cariocas, explains that low temperatures reduce the body’s natural hydration, leaving the dermis, hair and nails vulnerable to dryness and sensitivity. She advises limiting hot showers and heat styling, drinking enough water and using nourishing, fast‑absorbing lotions, oils (such as sunflower oil) and vitamin E‑rich products to protect cuticles and reinforce nail strength.

Katharina Vidal, makeup artist for Perfumaria Sumirê, recommends a gentle winter skincare routine: a mild facial cleanser, lightweight moisturizers that hydrate without feeling heavy, regular lip care, effective makeup removal and finishing with micellar water. For hair, she suggests less aggressive shampoos, conditioning masks and avoiding excessive use of hair dryers to reduce frizz and loss of shine. Together, the experts stress consistent, protective grooming habits to keep skin, hair and nails healthy throughout the season.
