Winter festivals and ice skating events announced in Kaatsheuvel and Heusden
Several Dutch towns are preparing for winter festivities featuring ice skating and seasonal events.
In Kaatsheuvel, the first Winterfestijn is scheduled to run from December 11, 2026, to January 3, 2027, at Anton Pieckplein. The event will include an ice rink with activities such as toddler skating, school skating, curling, and disco skating. A 'wunderbar' ski hut will offer drinks and food, complemented by themed party nights featuring various musical artists and beer tastings.
In Heusden Vesting, a sustainable, eco-friendly ice rink will be open at the Vismarkt from November 23 to December 6. Supported by local sponsors, the event offers low-cost entry that includes skate rentals. The program features DJ sets, curling nights, après-ski parties, and meet-and-greets with seasonal characters. Local schools are also expected to utilize the rink for physical education classes.
