Winter festivals enliven towns across Argentina and Chile

Communities in Argentina and Chile marked the winter season with a series of cultural and tourism events. In the Argentine town of Capilla del Sauce, missionary families organized games, sports and visits to prepare for the patron saint festivities on July 19. Nearby, the town of Tolhuin held its National Winter Festival, showcasing local foods, artisanal crafts and a karting‑on‑ice demonstration. Villa Gesell celebrated its 31st "Santiago Apóstol" winter feast, featuring the traditional volada del botafumeiro ceremony, communal meals and Galician music.

In Chile, Pucón previewed its upcoming "Month of the Hot Springs" with a sound‑therapy session and a showcase of local entrepreneurs, while the Festival Alado at Las Salinas de Huentelauquén gathered visitors for biodiversity education, artistic performances and the signing of conservation agreements. The newly created Parque Nacional Ansenuza in Córdoba marked its fourth anniversary, highlighted by tourism promotions and the continuation of a coastal‑defence infrastructure project.
