Winter service preparations and liability warnings in Germany and Switzerland

As temperatures drop, regional authorities are preparing for winter road maintenance. In Thuringia, Germany, road maintenance departments are organizing operations to ensure streets are cleared of snow efficiently.

In the municipality of Auw, Switzerland, local officials have issued a warning to vehicle owners regarding parking during the upcoming winter service. The community advises against parking on public roads, sidewalks, or squares to allow snowplows and other maintenance vehicles to operate without obstruction. The municipality has explicitly stated that it will not accept liability for any damages caused to vehicles parked incorrectly, whether by snowplows or by displaced snow masses.
