Winter sports competitions held at Mount Hotham and Falls Creek

Winter sports competitions recently took place at Mount Hotham and Falls Creek in Australia. At Mount Hotham, the Australia New Zealand Cup (ANC) Snowboard Cross and Ski Cross series commenced under wintry conditions. Olympic gold medalist Josie Baff successfully defended her ANC title in the SBX ANC 1 category. In the SX ANC 2 category, Liam Michael secured a victory, while Kyra Wheatley won both the SX ANC 1 and SX ANC 2 events.

At Falls Creek, the 32nd Kangaroo Hoppet was held despite a limited snowpack that required shortening the courses. In the men’s race, Lars Young Vik achieved his first victory at the event. In the women’s race, Rosie Fordham secured her second Kangaroo Hoppet win. Additionally, Jayden Spring won the men’s Birkebeiner race, and Ava McCann took the women’s victory in the same category.
