Winwick road closures planned for gas mains replacement
Cadent Gas is conducting a gas main replacement project in Winwick, leading to a series of road closures managed by Warrington Borough Council. Starting Monday, October 5, a six-week period of phased closures will affect several streets to facilitate the infrastructure works.
The affected areas include Bruche Avenue, Greenway, Lambs Lane, and Grosvenor Avenue. To minimize disruption, the council has implemented a plan where only one street will be closed at any given time. Specific closures include Bruche Avenue from its junction with Manchester Road to Fir Grove, and Greenway from Manchester Road to Royston Avenue. Lambs Lane will be inaccessible between Manchester Road and Parkdale Avenue, while Grosvenor Avenue will be closed from Manchester Road to Egerton Avenue.
Diversion routes have been established for all affected areas. For example, drivers on Bruche Avenue can use Manchester Road, Holes Lane, Green Lane, and Padgate Lane as alternatives. Access during the works will be managed by the contractor in charge.
