Wioletta Borkowska organizes maternal support events in Poland
The “Spotkaj się Mamo!” (Meet a Mom!) initiative, organized by psychologist Wioletta Borkowska, recently held community events in Tomaszów Lubelski and Zamość. The gatherings brought together mothers, expectant mothers, and women seeking female companionship.
The events featured consultations with specialists, “Speed Maming,” jewelry-making workshops, musical activities for children, and animations. However, the primary focus was facilitating conversation and the establishment of new social connections.
Borkowska founded the initiative to combat social isolation among women, particularly during pregnancy and the postpartum period. She noted that while social media provides connectivity, many women lack the physical community and local support networks—such as nearby family and neighbors—that were more common in the past. The goal is to create a space where women can share experiences and realize they are not alone in their challenges.
