Wipro expands employee productivity tracking platform in India
Wipro is expanding the deployment of TimeScope, an employee-productivity tracking platform, across its workforce in India. Following an initial rollout to approximately 5,000 employees in May, the company is now extending the tool to fixed-price project teams, billable delivery roles, support functions, and unassigned employees.
The platform is installed on company-issued devices and provides dashboards for both employees and managers. It tracks digital activity, login durations, and time spent on specific work applications such as Microsoft Office and Google Chrome. Wipro has stated that the system does not monitor keystrokes, screen content, or personal activity, and that official timesheets remain the primary source for project accounting.
Additionally, the platform is being integrated with attendance management. Under internal guidelines, a lack of recorded work attendance on scheduled days may trigger leave deductions. The company utilizes various indicators for this process, including device login records, office access data, and client-site visits. Employees retain the ability to dispute incorrect leave deductions.
