Wireless microphone demand rises amid RF spectrum congestion
The professional audio-visual (Pro AV) and broadcast industries are converging, leading to increased demand for wireless microphone systems that offer broadcast-tier reliability in corporate, educational, and government environments. Wireless audio is transitioning from an event-driven tool to a core component of installed AV infrastructure.
However, delivering consistent audio is becoming more difficult due to severe congestion within licensed radio frequency (RF) bands. As the demand for wireless connectivity grows, the available spectrum is shrinking. Industry experts note a disparity in spectrum acquisition, observing that while other wireless sectors request new spectrum with each technological generation, the Pro AV industry is often forced to operate within the same limited resources.
