Wirex integrates Tempo for stablecoin card settlement

Wirex has integrated Tempo as a settlement layer for its enterprise stablecoin card programs. This integration allows fintech partners using Wirex infrastructure to settle transactions on Tempo, a blockchain purpose-built for stablecoin payments that was incubated by Stripe.

Tempo provides sub-second transaction finality, predictable sub-cent fees paid in stablecoins rather than gas tokens, and structured transaction data to simplify reconciliation. The network also includes privacy features through Tempo Zones, which allow for selective disclosure for audit and compliance purposes.

Wirex, a principal member of Visa and Mastercard, offers a single integration for regulated card issuance, wallets, and compliance. While both companies stated that initial enterprise card programs are moving into production, they have not yet named specific customers or disclosed details regarding supported stablecoins and launch markets.
