Wirtschaftskammer Österreich signs 16 million euro consulting deal with KPMG

The Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (Wirtschaftskammer Österreich) has signed a framework agreement for management consulting with KPMG Advisory, valued at 16 million euros. The contract covers strategy, organizational consulting, coaching, interim management, and change management.

This agreement has drawn criticism from Michael Fürtbauer, state chairman of the Freedom Party's economic wing in Upper Austria. Fürtbauer highlighted a perceived contradiction between the Chamber's announced staff reductions and the significant expenditure on external consultants. He has called for full disclosure regarding the specific use of these funds and the details of all service calls under the framework agreement.

Separately, KPMG has announced the appointment of six new partners in its Austrian operations across the Advisory, Audit, and Tax sectors to expand its expertise in areas such as M&A, technology, and regulation.
