Wirtshaus Zenkl finds success with 9.90 Euro menus

The Wirtshaus Zenkl in Wildenstein, Austria, has seen unexpected success with its low-cost menu offerings. Restaurateur Rudolf Tomaschitz-Türk introduced the ‘Stempler- and Rentnermenüs’ in January, priced at 9.90 Euro.

Available on Thursdays and Fridays, the menus include a soup, a main course, and a salad. While the promotion was originally intended to attract retirees and help bridge the slower winter months, the demand has exceeded expectations. Although named for seniors, the offer is open to all guests. The initiative demonstrates how budget-friendly pricing can serve as a viable business strategy to increase foot traffic during quiet periods.
