Wisława Szymborska Award names 2026 translation winner and adds youth festival segment

The Wisława Szymborska Award announced that the prize for best foreign poetry volume translated into Polish for 2024‑2025 goes to translator Marta Eloy Cichocka for her Polish version of Chilean poet Raúl Zurita’s collection Zurita, published by Lokator. The award ceremony will take place on 29 June 2026 during the Miłosz Festival in Kraków at the Bagatela Theatre.

The same press conference presented the nominations for the prize for best Polish poetry book published in 2025, naming Zofia Bałdyga, Jerzy Jarniewicz, Maria Kwiecień, Marlena Niemiec and Agata Puwalska as the five shortlisted authors. The jury panel includes Paweł Mackiewicz, Đurđica Čilić, Anna Marchewka and others.

A new element of the Miłosz Festival was also unveiled: “Przystanek Młody Miłosz”, a series of workshops and creative activities aimed at children and young audiences, created in partnership with the Wisława Szymborska Foundation, ERGO Hestia and the Artystyczna Podróż Hestii foundation.
