Wisconsin and Victoria Sentences Mark Recent Meth Trafficking Crackdowns

Tyler Briggs, a 33‑year‑old from Mosinee, Wisconsin, was sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison after police arrested him with over 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine outside a Wausau bar. The case was led by the FBI’s Central Wisconsin Narcotics Task Force and resulted in a five‑year period of extended supervision after release.

In Alfredton, Victoria, 31‑year‑old Ike Richards received a ten‑month prison term for possessing 56 grams of methamphetamine found in a stolen Subaru. The Ballarat Magistrates’ Court also imposed a $1,000 fine and a one‑year driving disqualification, noting his extensive criminal history and the need for community protection.

Both convictions illustrate intensified law‑enforcement efforts against meth distribution in the United States and Australia.
