Wisconsin Badgers football outlook shows offensive improvement and bowl potential

Analysts and staff are evaluating the outlook for the Wisconsin Badgers football team heading into the 2026 season. Expectations for the offense have improved due to the addition of quarterback Colton Joseph, whose mobility is expected to provide a legitimate running threat and extend plays.

The backfield features Abu Sama III and Darrion Dupree, supported by depth from Bryan Jackson and Nate Palmer. The roster also includes a versatile tight end room and a receiving corps designed to avoid over-reliance on a single player.

In postseason projections, Wisconsin is being considered for bowl eligibility. Specifically, Scott Dochterman of The Athletic has projected the Badgers to face Virginia in the Duke's Mayo Bowl. While Wisconsin is ranked toward the lower end of Big Ten bowl projections, reaching seven or eight wins is viewed as a successful path for the program.
