Wisconsin begins early in-person absentee voting

Early in-person absentee voting has commenced in Wisconsin for the upcoming general election on November 3, 2026. The early voting period runs from October 20 through early November, depending on specific municipal hours and locations.

Key races on the ballot include the contest for governor between Democrat David Crowley and Republican Tom Tiffany, alongside various federal, state, and local races and referendums.

Voters are required to present an acceptable photo ID to receive an absentee ballot. Registration or address updates can be completed at absentee voting locations through October 30, provided voters present proof of residence. Notably, Wisconsin law prohibits voter registration on the Saturday, Sunday, or Monday immediately preceding Election Day, though unregistered individuals may still register at their polling places on Election Day.

In Milwaukee, 11 early voting sites are available, including the Zeidler Municipal Building. Statewide, officials estimate there are more than 2.6 million voters and approximately 3,600 polling places.
