Wisconsin Braces for Severe Storms and Heat Warning in Early July

The National Weather Service has issued a First Alert Weather Day for central Wisconsin through Thursday, July 2, warning of strong to severe thunderstorms Wednesday night into early Thursday. The storms could bring damaging winds exceeding 60 mph, hail one inch or larger, heavy rain and an isolated tornado risk, prompting a Flood Watch for the area.

In addition, an extreme heat warning remains in effect for Racine County, with temperatures expected to reach 91 °F on Thursday. The county forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday, followed by a cooler period early next week. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, monitor weather updates and take precautions against severe weather and heat exposure.
