Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association announces safety training course

The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) has announced a virtual ‘Train the Safety Trainer’ course scheduled for December 1. The program is designed to help dairy processing plants improve workforce safety culture and effective training delivery.

Taught by instructors from Chippewa Valley Technical College, the course focuses on best practices for safety trainers, including adult learning principles and training needs assessment. The curriculum specifically emphasizes areas highlighted by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Regional Emphasis Program for food processors, such as machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, chemical controls, and the prevention of slips, trips, and falls.
