Wisconsin DNR Closes Hank Aaron State Trail for 2026 State Fair

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Wisconsin State Fair Park officials will close the Hank Aaron State Trail between South 76th Street and South 84th Street from August 6 to August 16. The temporary closure is intended to maintain safety during the 2026 Wisconsin State Fair, which runs through State Fair Park.

Park management has installed metal detectors, upgraded fencing, limited bag sizes and updated gate procedures in recent years. Detour routes have been established in both directions, and signage will be posted before the closure begins at 8 a.m. on August 6.
