Wisconsin high school football player dies after game injury

The Alma Center Lincoln High School community is mourning the death of Adam Massman, a senior and starting quarterback, following an injury sustained during a football game. The incident occurred on Thursday, Aug. 20, during the team’s season-opening game against Turtle Lake.

Emergency medical personnel provided immediate assistance on-site before Massman was transported to a hospital. District Superintendent Drew Semingson confirmed that the school district learned of Massman’s passing on Saturday afternoon. While the specific nature of the injury or the cause of death has not been publicly disclosed, the district has requested that the family’s privacy be respected.

Massman was a prominent figure in the local community, participating in various sports and clubs. In response to the tragedy, the high school has provided counselors to support students, parents, and staff, with additional services scheduled to continue through Tuesday.
