Wisconsin measles outbreak reaches 36 confirmed cases

Health officials in southwestern Wisconsin have reported an increase in measles cases, bringing the total to 36 confirmed and three probable cases across three counties. The latest cases were confirmed in Grant County and are linked to previous infections in Lafayette and Iowa counties.

Iowa County currently holds the highest number of infections with 31 cases, followed by Lafayette County with six and Grant County with two. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services noted that the rapid pace of this outbreak distinguishes it from previous clusters in the state. Of the 41 total people infected in Wisconsin this year, 40 were unvaccinated.
