Wisconsin State Fair arrests and Iceland bridge project
Seven people were arrested following multiple group fights at the Wisconsin State Fair in the United States. The unrest occurred on a Sunday evening near the end of the annual event, reportedly triggered when a group attempted to enter the fairgrounds without authorization. Witnesses described chaos and multiple simultaneous altercations, though organizers stated that no serious injuries were reported. Police from Milwaukee and West Allis were called to restore order. Authorities also clarified that rumors of gunfire at the scene were unfounded.
In Iceland, preparations are advancing for the construction of an arch bridge over Djúpafjörður. The planned structure will be 210 meters long and 25 meters high, designed to span the sea without intermediate pillars to accommodate strong currents and tidal changes. The bridge will sit 8 meters above sea level, allowing for maritime passage underneath. Construction methods involve transporting steel structures via barges or temporary foundations, with completion expected by the end of 2028.
