Wisconsin suitcase murder investigation expands across multiple states

An investigation into the discovery of two women's remains found in suitcases abandoned on a rural Wisconsin road has expanded into a multistate search involving the FBI. The discovery, which occurred in June 2014, revealed two victims in advanced states of decomposition; one was found bound with rope in a fetal position, while the other was found in a state of mummification.

Due to extreme decomposition and a lack of identification at the scene, investigators faced significant challenges in identifying the victims or obtaining DNA. The probe has since extended from Oregon to Minnesota, with authorities looking into suspicious disappearances in neighboring states, including the 2013 disappearance of Laura Simonson in Minnesota.
