United States weather alerts: Extreme heat and severe storms

Various regions across the United States are facing extreme weather conditions, including intense heat waves and severe storm risks.

Multiple areas are under heat advisories or warnings. Triple-digit temperatures are expected in the desert Southwest, including Yuma and El Centro, as well as parts of the Coachella Valley and Los Angeles County. High-pressure systems are driving heat indices into the triple digits across the Midwest and parts of the southeastern plains.

Concurrently, several regions are monitoring severe storm threats. Severe weather, including potential for damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall, is forecasted for Nebraska and parts of Wisconsin. In West Virginia, thunderstorms pose a significant flooding risk to low-lying areas and creeks. Some regions may also experience dry lightning, increasing fire weather concerns.
