Farm Food Future program expands agrifood training in Greece

The Farm Food Future program, a free training and mentoring initiative by Wise Greece supported by the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, has successfully completed its first cycle and is launching its second phase. The program aims to bridge the business knowledge gap in the agrifood sector, focusing on areas such as financial management, business planning, marketing, and technology utilization.

Over 650 participants from across Greece joined the first cycle, with a notable demographic profile: 64% were women and 59.5% were young adults aged 18 to 29. Data from the first phase revealed significant educational needs, as 70.8% of participants lacked knowledge in financial management and 98.1% had never created a business plan. Following the program, 97.2% reported improved proficiency in business planning, and 94.2% gained better knowledge of social media marketing.

A key component of the initiative is its mentoring network, which provided participants with access to 50 mentors, including chefs, nutritionists, academics, and food industry executives. The second cycle will expand its reach by introducing new educational content and four in-person training sessions in regional areas.
