WISTA International launches new Associate Membership category

WISTA International has launched a new Associate Membership category designed to expand its global network within the maritime industry. This new tier is specifically aimed at companies, institutions, and organizations that support WISTA’s mission of promoting gender equality, diversity, and inclusion but cannot join through a National WISTA Association (NWA).

The membership is open to entities operating in sectors such as shipping, ports, logistics, transport, trading, and energy. To qualify, applicants must demonstrate alignment with WISTA’s mission and maintain an active presence in at least two countries. Approved organizations can nominate up to three representatives to participate in NWA activities.

Elpi Petraki, President of WISTA International, noted that interest from organizations wishing to formally support the network has grown, but the previous structure lacked a direct corporate membership option for many. To encourage adoption, WISTA International is offering complimentary Associate Membership until the end of 2026 for eligible organizations that apply by December 31, 2026.
