Witch on the Holy Night anime film set for global theatrical release in early 2027

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced the international theatrical release dates for the animated film ‘Witch on the Holy Night’. Produced by ufotable, the studio known for ‘Demon Slayer’, the film is an adaptation of the 2012 visual novel by Kinoko Nasu and TYPE-MOON.

The film is scheduled for a staggered global rollout starting in late 2026 and early 2027. Following its Japanese premiere on November 20, 2026, the film will arrive in several territories including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates on January 21, 2027.

Regional release dates include January 26 for German-speaking regions, January 27 for France, Belgium, and French-speaking Switzerland, and January 28 for Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Central America, Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Italy, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Italian-speaking Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand. The film will reach the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Finland, and Poland on January 29, 2027.

The story is set in the late 1980s and follows Aoko Aozaki, an apprentice magician, and her housemate Alice Kuonji, as their lives intersect with a young man named Soujuurou Shizuki.
