Witchy book recommendations for the Halloween season

As the Halloween season approaches, several book recommendations highlight witch-themed literature ranging from cozy romances to historical fantasies.

Alice Hoffman’s ‘The Witches of Cambridge’ is a historical fantasy set in 1950s Massachusetts. The story follows two Radcliffe students recruited into a secret underground coven known as the Lilith Society amidst the era of McCarthyism. Additionally, the final book in Hoffman’s ‘Practical Magic’ series follows Jet Owens as she attempts to break a centuries-old love curse.

Other notable titles include ‘The Ex Hex’ by Erin Sterling, a cozy romance set in Glen Graves, Georgia, involving a witch named Vivienne Jones and a long-standing curse. Sangu Mandanna’s ‘The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches’ follows Mika Moon, a British witch who begins tutoring young witches at the enigmatic Nowhere House.
