Witold Kulesza, longtime president of Zagłębie Lubin, dies at 68

Witold Kulesza, a prominent figure in Polish handball and long-time president of MKS Zagłębie Lubin, has passed away at the age of 68 following a battle with illness.

Kulesza, a legal counsel by profession, served as the president of MKS Zagłębie Lubin starting in 2004. Under his leadership, the club underwent significant organizational and sporting transformations, becoming a major center for handball in Poland. The club's women's team achieved notable success, including seven Polish championships, eleven Polish Cups, and two Super Cups, while both the men's and women's teams competed in the EHF Champions League.

Beyond his local impact, Kulesza was deeply involved in national handball administration, serving as a member of the Board of the Polish Handball Association from 2009 to 2017 and as Vice-Chairman of the League College from 2015 to 2016. He was honored with the Diamond Badge of the Polish Handball Association. In recognition of his contributions, a book of condolences will be available at the Regional Sports Center in Lubin.
