Wittlich arrests teen after three sexual assaults in Ohlingpark

Between July 23 and July 30, three women (ages 60, 61 and 18) were sexually harassed or assaulted in the Ohlingpark area of Wittlich, Germany. The incidents involved indecent touching, inappropriate comments and, in the case of the 18‑year‑old, sexual coercion on a footpath near the park and a logistics centre.

Police linked the cases and arrested a local teenager in the park. A search recovered clothing linked to the alleged offenses. The youth was placed in pre‑trial detention after a judge at the Trier district court issued a custody order. The city administration is reviewing lighting improvements, including a planned illuminated bike route, although police say the park is not a crime hotspot but note a drug‑scene presence.
