Wiz achieves StateRAMP authorization for government cloud security
Cloud security company Wiz has achieved StateRAMP authorization, a standardized security framework designed for state and local governments. This authorization allows government entities to utilize preapproved vendors from the StateRAMP Authorized Product List, reducing the need for individual audits. Wiz is also currently undergoing a FedRAMP PMO review for FedRAMP Moderate Authorization.
Concurrently, the landscape of government compliance is undergoing a structural shift. Programs like FedRAMP are moving away from manual, document-heavy review cycles toward machine-readable submissions and continuous, automated validation. This modernization aims to address historical delays, such as the 22-month average backlog for FedRAMP Moderate authorizations reported by the Government Accountability Office in 2024.
