Wiz introduces new cloud security remediation and response capabilities

Wiz has announced new remediation and response capabilities designed to help cloud security teams enforce security best practices and contain incidents in real time. The new features allow for one-click remediation of detected misconfigurations, the implementation of automation rules to ensure adherence to organizational security policies, and the ability to customize infrastructure with tailored remediation functions.

According to MongoDB Senior InfoSec Engineer John Misczak, these automation capabilities help manage the high volume of security events that can overwhelm limited workforces. By streamlining cloud posture management and threat detection, the tools aim to reduce the potential blast radius of unfolding incidents.

Effective cloud incident response increasingly relies on DevSecOps strategies to address the ephemeral nature of cloud workloads. Because workloads can start and stop within minutes, automated evidence collection—such as triggering serverless functions for snapshots or capturing container memory—is critical to preserving forensic data before an affected instance is terminated or scaled away.
