Wizard Lake water advisory issued due to elevated bacteria
Alberta Health Services (AHS) has issued an immediate water quality advisory for the beach at Jubilee Park on Wizard Lake due to elevated bacteria levels. Testing identified the contamination on the east side of the lake, a location frequently used for swimming and boating.
AHS warned that ingesting the water could result in gastrointestinal illness, and contact with the water may lead to skin, ear, or eye infections. The specific type of bacteria has not been identified, and it is currently unclear if the advisory extends to other areas of the lake within Leduc County. The advisory remains in effect until further notice.
