Wizards of the Coast announces Arcana Unleashed for D&D

Wizards of the Coast has announced the upcoming release of Arcana Unleashed and Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall, scheduled for September 15. The sourcebooks focus on expanding magic mechanics and options for Dungeons & Dragons 5e.

Arcana Unleashed introduces eight new subclasses corresponding to the eight schools of magic. While five are revised versions of older editions, the release features two entirely new subclasses: the Warrior of the Mystic Arts Monk and the Vestige Patron Warlock.

The Warrior of the Mystic Arts Monk is a spellcasting subclass that allows players to use cantrips and spells from the Sorcerer spell list starting at level 3, utilizing Wisdom as the casting statistic. This subclass also introduces a mechanic to convert spell slots into Focus Points and vice versa. The Vestige Patron Warlock derives power from a dead or dying god, offering players open-ended customization regarding the nature of their patron.
