Wizards of the Coast announces Marvel Darkhold Destiny for Magic: The Gathering

Magic: The Gathering Marvel Darkhold Destiny Wizards of the Coast Secret Lair Commander Decks

Wizards of the Coast has announced details for the upcoming Magic: The Gathering Marvel Darkhold Destiny expansion. The set will feature four pre-constructed Commander decks, including a Midnight Sons deck led by Blade, scheduled for a full release on April 9, 2027. Standard editions are priced at $74.99, while Collector’s Editions are $159.99. Prerelease events are expected to begin on April 2, 2027.

In preparation for the expansion, a Secret Lair Countdown Kit titled ‘Marvel’s History of Heroes’ will be released on November 2, 2026, for $199.99. This 30-card collection consists primarily of reprints with new Marvel-themed artwork. Notably, the kit includes two new uncommons from the 2027 Darkhold Destiny set: Beta Ray Bill and Doctor Strange, Master of Magic. While these cards can be used in casual play immediately, they will not be legal for sanctioned competitive play until the Darkhold Destiny prerelease in April 2027.
