Wizards of the Coast launches D&D: World of Warcraft crossover
Wizards of the Coast used Gen Con 2026 to unveil a new "Universes Beyond" line that brings external franchises into Dungeons & Dragons. The first product, D&D : World of Warcraft, is scheduled for release on 17 November 2026 with early‑access on 3 November. The 256‑page sourcebook adds 11 new playable WoW species, 13 classes and nine new subclasses, and includes over 60 new spells, 50 monsters and 23 factions. An Icecrown Citadel Map Pack lets characters from levels 16‑20 face a dozen high‑level bosses.
The announcement also confirmed a Star Wars D&D set for 2027, dubbed the "Season of Rebellion," and a revamped Dark Sun setting for early 2027 that introduces a new Psion class. Dan Ayoub, head of the D&D franchise, said the initiative expands D&D into worlds fans love, while Blizzard’s Holly Longdale noted the partnership lets players "roll for Azeroth."
