Wizkid and Black Sherif achieve major Spotify streaming milestones

Nigerian Afrobeats artist Wizkid, professionally known as Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, has become the first African artist to surpass 12 billion streams on Spotify across all credits. This milestone includes his solo releases, collaborations, and guest appearances, following his achievement of 11 billion streams in May 2026.

In a separate development, Ghanaian artist Black Sherif has reportedly approached the one billion stream mark on Spotify. While independent trackers such as Kworb listed his combined streams at approximately 827.8 million as of late October 2026, industry reports suggest he is nearing the billion-stream threshold across his lead, solo, and featured credits.
