Wizz Air expands Spanish operations with three new bases

Wizz Air is expanding its presence in Spain by opening three new operational bases before the end of the year. The Madrid and Valencia bases are scheduled to begin operations on November 3 and November 2, respectively, with two aircraft stationed at each location. The Santiago de Compostela base will follow on December 17, utilizing one permanently assigned aircraft.

To support the new operations in Madrid and Valencia, the airline expects to hire over 150 pilots and cabin crew members. The expansion includes a variety of new domestic and international connections. From Madrid, new routes will include Bilbao, Asturias, Palma de Mallorca, Santiago de Compostela, and Pisa. Valencia will add connections to Santiago de Compostela, Asturias, Santander, Bilbao, Palma de Mallorca, Brașov, and Naples.

In addition to the Spanish expansion, Wizz Air has strengthened its network in Cyprus with the launch of a Larnaca-Madrid route in September, aimed at increasing year-round connectivity between the two regions.
