Wizz Air explores new flight connections for Thassos via Kavala Airport

Representatives from Wizz Air and local Greek officials met on Thassos to discuss enhancing air connectivity for the island. The discussions focused on exploring potential cooperation through the Kavala ‘Alexander the Great’ International Airport to improve accessibility and attract new European markets.

Szilvia Vasvári, Airport Development Manager for Wizz Air Group, met with the Thassos Hoteliers Association and local government leaders, including the Deputy Mayor of Tourism and Construction, Ioannis Markianos. The goal is to leverage Wizz Air’s extensive European network to boost tourism flows and extend the traditional tourist season by promoting Thassos’s diverse offerings beyond sun and sea tourism.

Local authorities, including the Kavala Hoteliers Association and the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, expressed support for the initiative to develop regional air connectivity.
