Wizz Air flight delayed in Budapest following security threat
A Wizz Air flight departing from Budapest for Bilbao was significantly delayed following a security threat made via telephone. The aircraft, an Airbus A321neo, was halted while taxiing toward the runway after authorities issued a security warning.
Following strict protocols, passengers were disembarked and the aircraft, along with all passenger luggage, underwent a full inspection by bomb disposal units. The incident caused the closure of runway 2, forcing airport traffic to utilize the alternative runway.
The Airport Police Directorate (RRI) launched an investigation into the threat of public danger. Through data collection, investigators successfully identified the caller as a minor. The flight eventually departed approximately five and a half hours behind schedule.
